Privacy policy
The short version
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or any other personal details.
- Your scores and settings stay on your device. We never receive them.
- The game is free because it shows ads from Google. Google may collect information from your device to show and measure those ads.
- Where the law requires it, we ask before ads can be personalised, and you can change your choice later.
This policy explains how the MathStrokes game ("MathStrokes", "we", "us") handles information when you play it on the website at strokes.teachies.ai or in the MathStrokes app for iPhone, iPad and Android. MathStrokes is made by Teachies.
What the game keeps on your device
To remember your progress, the game saves a small amount of information in your browser's local storage or in the app's storage on your device:
- your best score, the highest stage you have reached and today's daily challenge result
- your day streak (the dates you last played)
- whether you have finished the practice rounds, and whether sound is on
This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's data for this website, or by deleting the app.
Ads by Google
MathStrokes shows ads to stay free. In the app, ads are provided by Google AdMob. On the website, ads are provided by Google AdSense. To show and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and use information such as:
- your device's advertising identifier (in the apps) or cookies and similar technologies (on the website)
- your IP address and the approximate location that can be worked out from it
- the type of device, operating system and browser you use, and your language
- how you interact with the ads you see, such as views and taps
Google uses this information to deliver ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure how ads perform, prevent fraud and, if you allow it, show ads based on your interests. We do not receive this information in a form that identifies you.
You can read how Google uses information from apps and websites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices about ads
- In Europe, the UK and Switzerland: before ads can use your information, the game shows a consent message from Google. To change your choice later, pause the game and tap "Ad privacy choices".
- On iPhone and iPad: the app asks for your permission before it can use your device's advertising identifier. You can change this in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- On Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings under Google, then Ads, or Privacy, then Ads, depending on your device.
- Everywhere: you can control personalised ads from Google at myadcenter.google.com, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
If you turn off personalised ads, you will still see ads, but they will be less related to your interests.
Sharing your score
When you tap "Share score", the game hands a picture and short message about your score to your device's own share sheet, or copies the message for you to paste. We don't see where you share it or who you share it with.
Children
MathStrokes is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, please contact us and we will help remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know about, access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to or limit certain uses of it. Because we don't hold personal information about you, most requests about ad data are best made to Google using the links above. You are welcome to contact us with any question about your privacy.
Changes to this policy
If we change how MathStrokes handles information, for example by adding new features, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
